There are currently 290 constituencies in Kenya , as established by Article 89 of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya. Each constituency elects one Member of the National Assembly. This number has been stable since the 2010 Constitution, which stipulated that constituencies be delineated based on population numbers. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is responsible for reviewing constituency boundaries, with a review required every 8 to 12 years, but the total number remains fixed at 290 constituencies for elections to the National Assembly.
