In the 2025 MLB season, there are a total of six wild card spots—three in the American League and three in the National League. Each league has three division winners plus three wild card teams. The two division winners with the best records in each league receive byes to the Division Series, while the third division winner and the three wild card teams compete in a best-of-3 Wild Card Series.
