Bobby Heenan, whose real name was Raymond Louis Heenan, was an American professional wrestling manager, color commentator, wrestler, and comedian. He was born on November 1, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, and died on September 17, 2017, in Largo, Florida, at the age of 72. The cause of death was multiple organ failure from complications of throat cancer. Heenan was diagnosed with throat and tongue cancer in 2002 and spent the last several years battling the disease, including losing the ability to talk after multiple surgeries on his tongue and the reconstruction of his lower jaw. He is considered by most experts to be the greatest pro wrestling manager of all time.
