Graham Howes, a renowned kite surfer and founder of the kite-surfing lifestyle brand Dirty Habits, tragically passed away in September 2025. He went missing while kite surfing solo off Bloubergstrand, South Africa, on September 7, 2025. Despite an extensive multi-agency search involving the National Sea Rescue Institute and local volunteers, his body was found at sea near Bloubergstrand and Dassen Island days later. The kite surfing community held a paddle-out tribute in his honor, celebrating his life and impact on the sport and community. Graham was known for his fearless big air kite surfing and his significant contributions to the kite surfing lifestyle brand and community. His funeral was held on September 13, 2025, in Cape Town, and he is remembered fondly by friends and fellow athletes worldwide.
