The Rocky Mountains are located in western North America, stretching over about 3,000 miles (4,800 kilometers) from northern British Columbia in Canada to New Mexico in the southwestern United States. They span multiple U.S. states including Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico, as well as the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. The Rockies are divided into several sections, including the Canadian Rockies, Northern Rockies, Central Rockies, and Southern Rockies, each spanning different regions of the range.
