Moore River is a river located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. It originates near Dalwallinu and flows about 193 kilometers, eventually discharging into the Indian Ocean at Guilderton, which is about an hour's drive north of Perth. The Moore River catchment area is used largely for agriculture and includes several tributaries. The river is known for its estuary and natural scenic beauty, making it a popular destination for fishing, water sports, and outdoor activities. The river area also has significant historical and cultural importance to the local Aboriginal people and early settlers. The river mouth at Guilderton often closes during the dry summer months, forming a sandbar.
