Before moving to Los Angeles, the Chargers were located in San Diego, where they played from 1961 to 2016. The team was originally established in Los Angeles in 1960 and played one season there before relocating to San Diego due to competition with the Los Angeles Rams. In San Diego, they played at several stadiums: Balboa Stadium from 1961 to 1966, then San Diego Stadium (later named Jack Murphy Stadium and Qualcomm Stadium) from 1967 until their return to Los Angeles in 2017.
