TikTok's U.S. operations are now primarily owned by a consortium of American investors, including Oracle, Silver Lake, and Abu Dhabi's MGX, collectively holding around 45% of TikTok USA. The Chinese parent company, ByteDance, retains a 19.9% stake, with the remaining 35% owned by existing ByteDance investors and new stakeholders. This structure complies with a bipartisan U.S. law limiting Chinese ownership of TikTok's U.S. assets to less than 20%. The deal is expected to be signed soon, with President Donald Trump supporting it to ensure TikTok's continued presence in the U.S. The U.S. investors will control the algorithm and have a majority on the board overseeing TikTok's American operations.
