who discovered einsteinium

Einsteinium was discovered in 1952 by Albert Ghiorso and a team of scientists. The element was identified in the debris from the first large hydrogen bomb test, which took place in the Pacific on November 1, 1952. The discovery was made by analyzing the radioactive fallout from this nuclear explosion. The element was later named after Albert Einstein.
