Voddie Baucham Jr. (March 11, 1969 – September 25, 2025) was an American pastor, author, and educator known for his defense of biblical authority and conservative teachings. He served as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia, and was the founding president of Founders Seminary in Cape Coral, Florida. Baucham was a prominent voice in Evangelical circles, recognized for his preaching on biblical manhood, family discipleship, and cultural apologetics. Born in Los Angeles and raised by a single mother, Baucham converted to Christianity during college. He held degrees from Houston Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, with additional postgraduate study at Oxford University. He was also a voice actor and an accomplished martial artist who opened a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Zambia. Baucham authored several bestselling books addressing modern cultural challenges through a biblical perspective, including "Family Driven Faith," "Fault Lines," and "The Ever-Loving Truth." He was married to his wife Bridget since 1989, with whom he had nine children and three grandchildren. Baucham passed away in 2025 after an emergency medical incident at age 56.
